    「佛教慈濟基金會」是證嚴上人秉持「為佛教、為眾生」的信仰,于1966年創立的。慈濟以佛教信仰為基礎,如今已發展成為全球最活躍的國際人道主義非政府組織之一。作為領導佛學研究的國際學術團體,其將證嚴上人的慈悲利他思想哲學轉化為激勵全體佛教徒實踐善行的"慈濟宗門",並將其納入現代佛教研究項目中。由"佛教慈濟基金會"和"哈佛大學中國藝術實驗室天竺佛教研究網路"(Harvard FAS CAMLab)聯合主辦的"證嚴上人思想與實踐研討會"於9月3日和9月4日在哈佛大學舉行。會議彙集了國際知名的佛學研究專家和學者,共同探討慈濟思想,王頌教授在會議中擔任評論人發表評述。
